In 2006 Hokanson Construction, Inc. merged with Hokanson Development Company, Inc.
to form Hokanson Construction & Development Company, Inc. Originally formed
in 1978, Hokanson Construction started out building custom homes on a single site
basis. Between 1978 and 1980, Hokanson Construction built and sold 10 custom homes
in the Twin Cities northern suburbs.
Hokanson Construction later entered the commercial market, acquiring land for the
purpose of building warehouse space and sports clubs. Company involvement has been
in the acquisition, construction, leasing and management of these commercial and
industrial buildings. Some of these projects were sold outright after construction
and occupancy, while others were held for investment purposes and leased to tenants.
Investment properties were transferred to Hokanson Investments, another division
of Hokanson Companies. Hokanson Investments has owned and leased as many as 35 bays
of warehouse space at a given time.
Minnesota commercial construction projects by the company now known as Hokanson Construction
& Development Company, Inc. have included the following:

While managing the progress of the projects listed above, Hokanson Development Company
has grown from its inception in 1990 to a multi-million dollar developer. Roger's
long held preference for working on "upper scale" homes coupled with his drive for
quality and customer service has enabled Hokanson Development to take an offensive
approach to the cyclical effect of interest rate fluctuations on the construction
marketplace.
Awards and Commendations
In April of 1993, the Genthon Ponds project was awarded the Environmental Excellence
Award by the Builders Association of Minnesota.
